A process for the production of a mineral gel, characterized by immersing a mineral powder in acidic water for at least six hours, adding a gelation stabilizer, a syneresis inhibitor and a dispersant to the resulting mixture, subjecting the obtained mixture to gelation, and neutralizing the resulting system. This process can give a gel containing fines far more easily than the mechanical grinding processes of the prior art, with the characteristics inherent in the mineral retained.

Procédé de production d'un gel minéral, caractérisé en ce que l'on immerge une poudre minérale dans de l'eau acide pendant au moins six heures, après quoi on ajoute au mélange obtenu un stabilisateur de gélification, un inhibiteur de synérèse et un dispersant, on soumet ledit mélange à un processus de gélification et on neutralise le système obtenu. Ce procédé permet d'obtenir un gel contenant des fines beaucoup plus aisément que par les procédés de broyage mécanique de la technique antérieure, tandis que les caractéristiques inhérentes au minerai sont retenues.
