The invention relates to a method for preserving an organ or tissue comprising contacting the organ or tissue with an effective amount of a kallikrein inhibitor and solutions useful for such a method. Also provided is a method for reducing reperfusion injury of an organ during surgery and/or following removal of the organ from a subject comprising placing the organ in an organ storage and preservative solution, wherein the solution comprises a kallikrein inhibitor.

L'invention concerne un procédé permettant de conserver un organe ou un tissu, qui comprend la mise en contact de l'organe ou du tissu concerné avec une quantité efficace d'inhibiteur de kallikreine et des solutions appropriées dans ce type de procédé. L'invention concerne en outre un procédé permettant de réduire les lésions consécutives à la perfusion d'un organe au cours d'une opération chirurgicale et/ou suite à l'ablation dudit organe pratiqué sur un sujet, par placement de l'organe concerné dans une solution de stockage et de conservation d'organes, ladite solution comprenant un inhibiteur de kallikreine.
