Methods using in vitro processes are disclosed for inducing or enhancing expression of enteric bacterial antigens or virulence factors. The methods, therefore, produce antigencially enhanced enteric bacteria. Also methods for using the antigenically enhanced bacteria are also disclosed, as well as vaccines containing the enteric bacteria. Specifically, a whole enteric bacteria or components thereof are provided by Helicobacter species. Also there are other enteric bacteria which are useful for the disclosed invention. One type, Campylobacter jejuni is graphically depicted wherein the results of high-performance liquid chromatography of monosaccharides from surface extract hydrolysates of C.jejuni are shown.
L'invention concerne des méthodes dans lesquelles des procédés in vitro sont utilisés pour induire ou augmenter l'expression d'antigènes bactériens entériques et/ou des aggressines. Ces procédés permettent de produire des bactéries entériques à action antigénique améliorée ainsi que des vaccins les contenant. Plus spécifiquement, une bactérie entérique intégrale ou des composants de celle-ci sont produits par une espèce d'Helicobacter. L'invention porte également sur d'autres bactéries entériques utiles et un type de Campylobacter jejuni est représenté graphiquement, les résultats de la chromatographie en phase liquide haute performance de monosaccharides à partir d'hydrolysats superficiels extraits de C. jejuni étant représentés dans la figure.
