Methods for producing medium-density articles from recovered high-density tungsten alloy (WHA) material (16), and especially from recovered WHA scrap. In one embodiment of the invention, the method includes forming a medium- density alloy from WHA material and one or more medium- to low-density metal or metal alloys. In another embodiment, medium-density grinding media (50), such as formed from the above method, is used to mill WHA scrap and one or more matrix metals (18) into particulate that may be pressed and, in some embodiments, sintered to form medium-density articles therefrom.
La présente invention concerne un procédé de production d'articles de densité moyenne à partir d'un matériau (16) d'alliage de tungstène de haute densité récupéré, et notamment à partir de rebuts d'alliage de tungstène de haute densité de récupération. Selon un mode de réalisation de l'invention, le procédé comporte un étape de formation d'un matériau d'alliage de densité moyenne à partir d'un alliage de tungstène de haute densité et un ou des métaux ou alliages métalliques de faible densité à densité moyenne Selon un autre mode de réalisation, on utilise des corps broyants de densité moyenne (50), tels ceux formés au moyen dudit procédé, pour broyer les rebuts d'alliages de tungstène et une ou des matrices métalliques (18) en matière particulaire apte à être pressée, et dans certains modes de réalisation, à être frittée en vue d'en former des articles de densité moyenne.
