Methods are provided for increased and controlled production of choline and inositol, choline and inositol metabolites, and choline- and inositol- containing phospholipids in yeast, comprising the step of increasing phosphatidylcholine (PC) turnover in yeast (see the figure). Methods are also provided for detecting phospholipase D-mediated turnover of phosphatidylcholine in vivo in yeast, comprising an assay for choline excretion.

Procédés permettant une production accrue et régulée de choline et d'inositol, de métabolites de choline et d'inositol et de phospholipides contenant de la choline et de l'inositol dans des levures, qui comprennent une étape consistant à augmenter la rotation de la phosphatidylcholine (PC) dans des levures (voir la figure). Des procédés de détection de la rotation, induite par la phospholipase D, de la phosphatidylcholine in vivo dans des levures, ainsi qu'un dosage permettant la détection de l'excrétion de choline sont également décrits.
