Methods for producing substantially round, spherical and sintered particles from a slurry of a calcined, uncalcined or partially calcined raw material having an alumina content of more than 55% by weight, and a mullite growth promoter in an amount of from about 2 to about 10% dry weight of the total solids in the slurry. Methods for using such substantially round, spherical and sintered particles in hydraulic fracturing operations.
L'invention concerne des procédés permettant de produire des particules sensiblement rondes, sphériques et frittées à partir d'un coulis de matière brute calciné, non calciné ou partiellement calciné dont la teneur en alumine excède 55 % en poids et un facteur de croissance de la mullite dont la quantité est comprise entre environ 2 et environ 10 % en poids sec du total des solides du coulis.
