A method for recovering tallow from meat processing wastewater includes adding a coagulant composition to the wastewater to agglomerate suspended fat, oil and grease particles in the wastewater, separating solid waste materials from the wastewater and isolating tallow from the solid waste materials. The coagulant composition includes tannin.

L'invention concerne un procédé destiné à extraire du suif à partir d'eaux usées provenant de la transformation de la viande. Ce procédé consiste à: ajouter une composition coagulante aux eaux usées pour que la graisse, l'huile et les particules grasses en suspension dans lesdites eaux usées s'agglomèrent; séparer les déchets solides des eaux usées et isoler le suif des déchets solides.
