It is disclosed here a method for reducing phosphate absorption in a human or non-human animal subject wherein the subject consumes a diet containing phytic acid or phytate and either has or is at risk of developing hyperphosphatemia. The method includes the step of administering orally to the subject an anti-phytic acid (C6H6[OPO(OH)2]O) antibody or an anti- phytate antibody in an amount effective to reduce or maintain the serum phosphate concentration in the subject.

L'invention concerne un procédé destiné à réduire l'absorption de phosphate chez un animal humain ou non humain, le sujet consommant un régime contenant de l'acide phytique ou un phytate et soit étant atteint d'hyperphosphatémie, soit présentant un risque de développer celle-ci. Le procédé comprend l'étape d'administration orale au sujet d'un anticorps anti-acide phytique (C6H6[OPO(OH)2]0) ou d'un anticorps anti-phytate en une quantité efficace pour réduire ou maintenir la concentration en phosphate dans le sérum chez le sujet.
