L'invention concerne un procédé de détermination d'un identifiant de pouvoir discriminant déterminé à partir d'une donnée biométrique. Selon ce procédé, on obtient une donnée biométrique relative à un individu (1). On convertit la donnée biométrique en une chaîne numérique (w1). On associe un mot (c1) d'un code correcteur d'erreurs à l'individu. On ajoute le mot du code correcteur d'erreurs à la chaîne numérique. On détermine un identifiant (H(c1)) relatif à l'individu par application d'une fonction de hachage (H) au mot du code correcteur d'erreurs, la fonction de hachage étant choisie pour assurer audit identifiant le pouvoir discriminant déterminé.
