The invention provides methods for treating an individual having a retinoid responsive disorder. In one embodiment, a method involves administering to the individual an effective amount of a selective CYP26B inhibitor, the selective CYP26B inhibitor having at least 10-fold selectivity for CYP26B relative to CYP26A. In another embodiment, a method involves administering to the individual an effective amount of a selective CYP26A inhibitor, the selective CYP26A inhibitor having a chemical formula set forth in the specification. The invention further provides screening methods for identifying a selective CYP26A inhibitor or selective CYP26B inhibitor.
L'invention concerne des procédés permettant de soigner un individu atteint d'un trouble sensible au rétinoïde. Dans un mode de réalisation de cette invention, un procédé consiste à administrer à cet individu une quantité efficace d'un inhibiteur sélectif de CYP26B, cet inhibiteur sélectif de CYP26B possédant une sélectivité pour CYP26B équivalente à au moins 10 fois celle pour CYP26A. Dans un autre mode de réalisation de cette invention, un procédé consiste à administrer à l'individu une quantité efficace d'un inhibiteur sélectif de CYP26A, cet inhibiteur sélectif de CYP26A possédant une formule chimique telle que définie dans la spécification. L'invention concerne également des procédés de criblage permettant d'identifier un inhibiteur sélectif de CYP26A ou un inhibiteur sélectif de CYP26B.
