The present invention relates to methods for treating pathological conditions associated with Helicobacter sp infections, specifically H. pylori infection. The present invention further relates to methods for treating pathologies characterized by excess gastric acid secretion. The methods of the present invention comprise oral administration of pentagastrin effective locally in the stomach in conjunction with a gastric proton pump inhibitor. It is disclosed herein for the first time that PG administered orally exerts a local effect in the stomach and may be used in combination with a PPI for treating pathological conditions characterized by excess gastric acid secretion and in pathological conditions associated with Helicobacter sp infections.
La présente invention concerne des méthodes de traitement d'états pathologiques associés à Helicobacter sp, spécifiquement une infection à H. pylori. La présente invention concerne également des méthodes de traitement de pathologies caractérisées par une sécrétion excessive d'acide gastrique. Les méthodes de la présente invention consistent en l'administration par voie orale de pentagastrine efficace localement dans l'estomac en association avec un inhibiteur de pompe à protons gastrique. Pour la première fois est ici décrit que la pentagastrine PG, administrée par voie orale, exerce un effet local dans l'estomac, et elle peut être utilisée en association avec un inhibiteur de pompe à protons PPI dans le traitement d'états pathologiques caractérisés par une sécrétion excessive d'acide gastrique et dans des états pathologiques associés à des infections à Helicobacter sp.
