Disclosed is a method for treating infection with a pathogen. The method involves administration of: (1) a substance which induces active pathogen replication in a cell latently infected with HIV and (2) an anti-pathogen drug. Also disclosed are methods for expanding CD4+ T cells from peripheral blood mononuclear cells isolated from human subjects in the presence of an antiretroviral drug and for treating HIV infection by infusing the expanded CD4+ cells into HIV-infected patients.

L'invention concerne un procédé de traitement d'une infection par un pathogène. Ledit procédé consiste à administrer: (1) une substance induisant la réplication du pathogène actif dans une cellule infectée de façon latente par le VIH, et (2) un médicament anti-pathogène. L'invention concerne également des procédés de multiplication des lymphocytes T CD4+ issus de cellules mononucléaires du sang périphérique isolées à partir de sujets humains en présence d'un médicament anti-rétroviral, ainsi que des procédés de traitement des infections par le VIH par injection des cellules CD4+ multipliées dans les patients infectés au VIH.
