The present invention uncovers a highly significant association of SNPs in the CNR2 locus, encoding the cannabinoid receptor 2 protein, with osteoporosis. Methods and kits for determining predisposition to osteoporosis, improving diagnosis in individuals suspected of having osteoporosis are provided. Also provided a method of identifying a putative osteoporosis-causing genetic mutation in a subject.
La présente invention se rapporte à la découverte d'une association hautement significative des polymorphismes SNP dans le locus <i>CNR2</i>, codant pour la protéine du récepteur cannabinoïde 2, avec l'ostéoporose. L'invention concerne des méthodes et des trousses de matériel permettant de déterminer la prédisposition à l'ostéoporose, et d'améliorer le diagnostic chez des individus chez lesquels une ostéoporose est soupçonnée. L'invention concerne également une méthode permettant d'identifier une mutation génétique supposée causer une ostéoporose chez un sujet.
