ABSTRACT "METHODS OF AND APPARATUS FOR COMPILING THE CONTENT OF STORED DATA VIDEO DISPLAY SYSTEM PAGES" For editing, correcting or up-dating data carrier (V) provided with graphic patterns and characters, and forming a page for a video display system, the latter are scanned by means of an opto-electronic scanning device (AB), the original graphic patterns being represented in given colours on the data carrier (V). The characters to be revised are represented at least in respect of their position by marks of a further colour which differs from the given colours. When a character possessing this colour is scanned a special symbol is produced and represented on the screen of an output unit (AE). The special symbols are then replaced by characters which may be input by means of a keyboard (TA) or automatically called up from a supplementary store (SP2). The characters preferably consist of alphanumerical characters. (Figure 3) - 12 -
