The invention provides a method of assaying for tetrahydrocannabinol in a body fluid, said method comprising contacting a sample of body fluid with an imine capable of reacting with tetrahydrocannabinol to yield a quinone imine, and detecting the formation of a quinone imine, characterised in that said sample is contacted with said reagent compound at a pH of at least 10.5.

L'invention porte sur un procédé d'analyse du tétrahydrocannabinol dans un liquide organique, ledit procédé comportant la mise en contact d'un échantillon de liquide organique avec une imine capable de réagir avec le tétrahydrocannabinol afin de produire une quinone imine, et la détection de la formation d'une quinone imine, et étant caractérisé en ce que ledit échantillon est mis en contact avec ledit composé réactif à un pH d'au moins 10,5.
