A B S T R A C T Plant seeds, preferably leguminous, are coated with 0.1-5 parts by weight, per 100 parts by weight of seed, of a film forming material and fur- ther coated with at least 10 parts by weight (same basis) of solid particles of an agent such as calcium carbonate while the first cost is semi-solid and tacky. The film-forming material preferably comprises a prepolymer curable with water and/or an amine to a water insensitive but permeable solid. One particularly suitable agricultural use for the resulting coated seeds is in the growing of crops in acid soils.
