According to the invention there is provided a method of encapsulating a substance including the steps of: providing a monomer which includes a group of sub-formula (I) where R2 and R3 are independently selected from (CR7R8)n, or a group CR9R10 CR7R8CR9R10 or CR9R10CR7R8 where n is O, 1 or 2, R7 and R8 are independently selected from hydrogen, halo or hydrocarbyl, and either one of R9 or R10 is hydrogen and the other is an electron withdrawing group, or R9 and R10 together form an electron withdrawing group, and R4 and R5 are independently selected from CH or CR11 where R11 is an electron withdrawing group; the dotted lines indicate the presence or absence of a bond, X1 is a group CX2X3 where the dotted line bond to which it is attached is absent and a group CX2 where the dotted line bond to which it is attached is present, Y1 is a group CY2Y3 where the dotted line bond to which it is attached is absent and a group CY2 where the dotted line bond to which it is attached is present, and X2, X3, Y2 and Y3 are independently selected from hydrogen, fluorine or other substituents; R1 is selected from hydrogen, halo, nitro, or hydrocarbyl, optionally substituted or interposed with functional groups; R12 is selected from hydrogen, halo, nitro, hydrocarbyl, optionally substituted or interposed with functional groups, or -R3-R5~Y1; and Z is an anion of charge m; mixing the monomer with the substance and, optionally, at least one of a solvent for the monomer and an initiator to form a monomer containing mixture; placing a pre-determined quantity of the monomer containing mixture in a pre- determined location so as to form a desired shape; and polymerising the monomer so as to produce a polymeric matrix of a desired shape which encapsulates the substance.
L'invention propose un procédé d'encapsulation d'une substance qui consiste : à se procurer un monomère qui comprend un groupe de la sous-formule (I) où R2 et R3 sont indépendamment choisis parmi (CR7R8)n, ou un groupe CR9R10, CR7R8CR9R10 ou CR9R10CR7R8 où n représente 0, 1 ou 2, R7 et R8 sont indépendamment choisis parmi l'hydrogène, l'halogéno ou l'hydrocarbyle, et l'un ou l'autre de R9 ou R10 représente l'hydrogène et l'autre représente un groupe attracteur d'électrons, ou R9 et R10 forment conjointement un groupe attracteur d'électrons, et R4 et R5 sont indépendamment choisis parmi CH ou CR11 où R11 est un groupe attracteur d'électrons; les traits pointillés indiquent la présence ou l'absence d'une liaison, X1 représente un groupe CX2X3 lorsque la liaison en traits pointillés à laquelle il est attaché est absente et un groupe CX2 lorsque la liaison en traits pointillés à laquelle il est attaché est présente, Y1 représente un groupe CY2Y3 lorsque la liaison en traits pointillés à laquelle il est attaché est absente et un groupe CY2 lorsque la liaison en traits pointillés à laquelle il est attaché est présente, et X2, X3, Y2 et Y3 sont indépendamment choisis parmi l'hydrogène, le fluor ou autres substituants; R1 est choisi parmi l'hydrogène, l'halogéno, le nitro ou l'hydrocarbyle, facultativement substitué par des groupes fonctionnels ou avec des groupes fonctionnels interposés, R12 est choisi parmi l'hydrogène, l'halogéno, le nitro, l'hydrocarbyle, facultativement substitué par un groupe fonctionnel ou avec des groupes fonctionnels interposés, ou -R3-R5?Y1; et Z représente un anion de charge m; à mélanger le monomère avec la substance et, facultativement, au moins l'un d'un solvant pour le monomère et d'un initiateur pour former un mélange contenant le monomère; à placer une quantité prédéterminée du mélange contenant le monomère dans un emplacement prédéterminé de façon à former la forme voulue; et à polymériser le monomère de façon à produire une matrice polymérique en une forme voulue qui encapsule la substance.
