A method of fabricating a catheter shaft having one or more guidewire ports (34) is disclosed which includes the steps of cutting the wall of a first shaft portion (28) to create an opening defined by the wall of the first shaft portion, inserting the proximal end of an inner member (62) through the opening defined by the wall of the first shaft portion, inserting the distal end of the inner member (62) into the lumen of a second shaft portion (30), inserting the bonding end of the second shaft portion into a lumen defined by first shaft portion, and bonding the bonding portion (54) of the first shaft portion (28) to the bonding portion (52) of the second shaft portion (30).
L'invention concerne un procédé de fabrication d'une gaine de cathéter dotée d'au moins un orifice de fil guide. Selon la présente invention, un procédé consiste à couper la paroi d'une première portion de gaine pour créer une ouverture définie par la paroi de la première portion de gaine, introduire l'extrémité proximale d'un élément interne à travers l'ouverture définie par la paroi de ladite première portion, introduire l'extrémité distale de l'élément interne dans la lumière d'une seconde portion de gaine, introduire l'extrémité de liaison de cette seconde portion dans une lumière définie par la première portion de gaine, et relier la portion de liaison de ladite première portion à la portion de liaison de ladite seconde portion.
