A method of identifying a candidate compound for treatment of a neurological condition includes obtaining a test compound; assaying a first activity of the test compound to inhibit histone deacetylase activity of a histone deacetylase 3 (HDAC3); assaying a second activity of the test compound to inhibit histone deacetylase activity of a histone deacetylase other than a HDAC3; and identifying the test compound as a candidate compound for treatment of a neurological condition if the first activity of the test compound is greater than the second activity of the test compound.
L'invention concerne un procédé d'identification d'un composé candidat pour le traitement d'une affection neurologique comprenant l'obtention d'un composé d'essai ; l'estimation d'une première activité du composé d'essai pour inhiber l'activité de l'histone désacétylase d'une histone désacétylase 3 (HDAC3) ; l'estimation d'une seconde activité du composé d'essai pour inhiber l'activité de l'histone désacétylase d'une histone désacétylase autre qu'une HDAC3 ; et l'identification du composé d'essai comme composé candidat pour le traitement d'une affection neurologique si la première activité du composé d'essai est supérieure à la seconde activité du composé d'essai.
