Disclosed herein are methods of identifying a candidate molecule that mimics at least a portion of the three-dimensional structure of a rU-ACTX-Hvla insecticidal toxin, the method comprising providing a molecular model made from the atomic co-ordinates for the rU-ACTX- HvIa insecticidal toxin as disclosed herein, using the molecular model to identify a candidate molecule that mimics the three-dimensional structure of the rU-ACTX-Hvla insecticidal toxin; and providing the candidate molecule that is identified. The method optionally comprises employing a molecular model identifying the pharmacophoric residues of U-ACTX as Q8, P9, N28, and V34.
L'invention concerne des procédés destinés à identifier une molécule candidate qui imite au moins une partie de la structure tridimensionnelle d'une toxine insecticide rU-ACTX-Hvla, le procédé consistant à fournir un modèle moléculaire à partir des coordonnées atomiques de la toxine insecticide rU-ACTX-Hvla telle que décrite ici, à utiliser le modèle moléculaire pour identifier une molécule candidate qui imite la structure tridimensionnelle de la toxine insecticide rU-ACTX-Hvla; et à fournir la molécule candidate qui est identifiée. Le procédé consiste éventuellement à utiliser un modèle moléculaire identifiant les résidus pharmacophores de U-ACTX, tels que Q8, P9, N28, et V34.
