Methods of improving the efficiency of solid-liquid separation during centrifugal filtration in a centrifugal filtration vessel (1) has been developed. They consist of increasing the pressure drop across a filter cake (6) using extraneous means such as introducing gas through compressed air inlet tubing (9) to increase the gas pressure inside a filter chamber and/or applying a vacuum on the outside of the filter chamber. The extraneous means of increasing the pressure drop is designed to increase the rate of removing water during the drainage period of the centrifugal filtration process and, and hence lower the amount of residue water left in the filter cake (6).
L'invention concerne des procédés qui améliorent l'efficacité d'une séparation solide-liquide au cours d'une filtration centrifuge dans une cuve de filtration centrifuge (1). Ces procédés consistent à augmenter la perte de charge d'un gâteau de filtration (6), par un moyen extérieur tel que l'introduction d'un gaz à travers un tube d'admission d'air comprimé (9), afin d'augmenter la pression du gaz à l'intérieur de la chambre de filtration et/ou de créer un vide à l'extérieur de la chambre de filtration. Le moyen extérieur utilisé pour augmenter la perte de charge est conçu pour augmenter la vitesse d'évacuation de l'eau pendant l'étape de purge du processus de filtration centrifuge et, par conséquent, diminuer la quantité d'eau résiduelle laissée dans le gâteau de filtration (6).
