A method for simultaneously sealing and creating a thermal perforation (107) between two thermoplastic layers (102). Drum (130) is provided and has at least one sealbar and perforation assembly (132, 134, 136, 138). Layers (102) are contacted to the assembly and are sealed with two generally opposing parallel seals (105). Perforation (107) is simultaneously created in layers (102) generally parallel to seals (105). Perforation (107) is located between seals (105).
