Methods for manufacturing an engineered wood product are disclosed. The method includes contacting at least part of a first set of wood pieces with a first resin; contacting at least part of a second set of wood pieces with a second resin, wherein the second resin is more washout resistant than the first resin; orienting the first and second set of wood pieces to provide a blanket of oriented pieces, the blanket of oriented pieces including a core layer formed of the second set of wood pieces sandwiched between a pair of face layers formed of the first set of wood pieces; steam preheating at least a portion of the blanket of oriented pieces; and curing the first and second resins by exposing at least a part of the blanket of oriented pieces to at least one of an elevated temperature, an elevated pressure, and radiant energy.
L'invention concerne des procédés de fabrication d'un produit de bois transformé. Le procédé consiste à assembler au moins une partie d'un premier ensemble de morceaux de bois avec une première résine; à assembler au moins une partie d'un second ensemble de morceaux de bois avec une seconde résine, la seconde résine résistant mieux au lavage que la première résine; à orienter le premier ensemble et le second ensemble de morceaux de bois pour fournir une couverture de morceaux orientés, la couverture de morceaux orientés comprenant une couche centrale constituée du second ensemble de morceaux de bois pris en sandwich entre une paire de couches externes formées du premier ensemble de morceaux de bois; à préchauffer à la vapeur au moins une partie de la couverture de morceaux orientés; et à cuire la première et la seconde résines en exposant au moins une partie de la couverture de morceaux orientés à une température élevée et/ou une pression élevée et/ou une énergie rayonnante.
