Methods for efficiently capturing a target nucleic acid from a sample by using a mixture that contains a capture probe specific for the target nucleic acid, the target nucleic acid, and a denaturant chemical, which mixture is incubated at elevated temperature for a short time, are disclosed. Compositions that include a capture probe that specifically binds to a target nucleic acid and a denaturant chemical, which when mixed with the target nucleic acid and incubated at elevated temperature for a short time, promote efficient hybridization of the capture probe and target nucleic acid are disclosed.

L'invention concerne des procédés pour capturer un acide nucléique cible contenu dans un échantillon au moyen d'un mélange comportant une sonde de capture spécifique à l'acide nucléique cible, l'acide nucléique cible, et un agent chimique dénaturant, ce mélange étant incubé à une température élevée pendant une courte durée. Cette invention concerne également des compositions comprenant une sonde de capture qui se lie spécifiquement à un acide nucléique cible, et un agent chimique dénaturant, ces compositions induisant une hybridation efficace de la sonde de capture et de l'acide nucléique cible lorsqu'elles sont mélangées avec l'acide nucléique cible et incubées à une température élevée pendant une courte durée.
