A method of transitioning catalysts for polyolefin polymerization is provided. In one aspect, the process includes providing a polymerization reactor that includes a first catalyst system, contacting olefin monomers with the first catalyst system for form polyolefin in a first polymerization reaction and introducing a catalyst killer to the polymerization reactor in an amount sufficient to terminate the first polymerization reaction. The method further includes introducing a second catalyst system to the polymerization reactor in the presence of at least a portion of the catalyst killer, wherein the at least a portion of the catalyst killer is an amount sufficient to activate the second catalyst system and contacting olefin monomers with the second catalyst system to form polyolefin in a second polymerization reaction.
L'invention concerne un procédé pour réaliser des transitions entre des catalyseurs servant à la polymérisation de polyoléfines. Selon un aspect de l'invention, ledit procédé consiste : à mettre à disposition un réacteur de polymérisation qui contient un premier système catalyseur ; à mettre en contact des monomères d'oléfine avec le premier système catalyseur pour former une polyoléfine au cours d'une première réaction de polymérisation : et à introduire un poison de catalyseur dans le réacteur de polymérisation dans des proportions suffisantes pour arrêter la première réaction de polymérisation. Ce procédé consiste en outre à introduire un deuxième système catalyseur dans le réacteur de polymérisation en présence d'au moins une partie du poison de catalyseur, cette partie du poison de catalyseur étant présente dans des proportions suffisantes pour activer le deuxième système catalyseur, et à mettre en contact des monomères d'oléfine avec le deuxième système catalyseur pour former une polyoléfine au cours d'une deuxième réaction de polymérisation.
