Methods include separating feed material containing magnetic particles and nonmagnetic particles using a belt and magnetic roll separator that has an idler roil and a magnetic roll carrying magnets and the methods involve positioning a feed pan or slide for directing the feed onto the belt in contact with the magnetic roll at selectable positions on the belt and at selectable angles of impact onto the belt closely adjacent and contacting the magnetic roll to provide enhanced separation by the forces of feed impact, bounce and gravity and simultaneous magnetic attraction by the magnetic roll.
L~invention concerne des procédés de séparation de matières premières contenant des particules magnétiques et des particules non magnétiques à l~aide d~une bande et d~un séparateur à rouleau magnétique comportant un rouleau fou et un rouleau magnétique portant des aimants. Les procédés comprennent les étapes consistant à mettre en place un bac ou une goulotte d~alimentation pour amener les matières premières sur la bande au contact du rouleau magnétique en des positions sélectionnables sur la bande et selon des angles d~impact sélectionnables très rapprochés sur la bande, et à réaliser le contact du rouleau magnétique de façon à améliorer la séparation par les forces d~impact des matières premières, par les rebonds et la pesanteur ainsi que l~attraction magnétique simultanée exercée par le rouleau magnétique.
