Methods of using phytoestrogens, in particular, isoflavones in the prevention and treatment of endometriosis and related disease conditions in females. One method comprises administering a therapeutically effective dosage of a phytoestrogen to females with endometriosis, females having symptoms related to endometriosis, or to females at risk of developing or suffering recurrence of endometriosis. In another method, at least one phytoestrogen may be administered singly or in combination with at least one hormonal therapeutic agent such as GnRH analogs, androgens, progestins, estrogens or any combination thereof. The therapeutically effective dosage of the phytoestrogen or the combination therapeutic ranges between about 25 and about 250 mg/day.
Cette invention se rapporte à des procédés utilisant des phytoestrogènes, en particulier des isoflavones, dans la prévention et le traitement de l'endométriose et des états pathologiques apparentés chez la femme. L'un de ces procédés consiste à administrer une dose thérapeutiquement efficace d'un phytoestrogène à des sujets souffrant d'endométriose, à des sujets ayant des symptômes apparentés à l'endométriose ou à des sujets risquant de développer l'endométriose ou de souffrir de rechute. Dans un autre procédé, au moins un phytoestrogène peut être administré seul ou en combinaison avec au moins un agent thérapeutique hormonal, tel que des analogues de gonadolibérines, des androgènes, des progestines, des oestrogènes ou toute combinaison de ceux-ci. La dose thérapeutiquement efficace du phytoestrogène ou de la combinaison thérapeutique peut être comprise entre environ 25 et environ 250 mg/jour.
