The present invention provides methods of treating a range of T-cell mediated disease states in a subject. The methods involve administering to the subject a composition comprising a therapeutically effective amount of a polyunsaturated fatty acid and a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier; in which the plyunsaturated fatty acid contains 18-25 carbons, 1-6 double bonds and has one or two substitutions selected from the group consisting of .beta. oxa, .gamma. oxa, .beta. thia and .gamma. thia, or the polyunsaturated fatty acid contains 16-26 carbon chain, 3-6 double bonds and is covalently coupled at the carbolxylic acid group to an amino acid.
La présente invention concerne des procédés permettant de traiter une gamme d'états pathologiques induits par cellule T chez un patient. Lesdits procédés consistent à administrer au patient une composition comprenant une quantité à efficacité thérapeutique d'un acide gras polyinsaturé et d'un transporteur acceptable sur le plan pharmaceutique, où l'acide gras polyinsaturé contient 18 à 25 atomes de carbone, 1 à 6 doubles liaisons et comporte une ou deux substitutions choisies dans le groupe comprenant les .beta. oxa, .gamma. oxa, .beta. thia et .gamma. thia; ou bien où l'acide gras polyinsaturé contient une chaîne de 16 à 26 atomes de carbone, 3 à 6 doubles liaisons et est couplé par covalence à un acide aminé au niveau du groupe acide carboxylique.
