Cells present in adipose tissue are used to treat patients, including patients with PVD and related diseases or disorders. Methods of treating patients include processing adipose tissue to deliver a concentrated amount of stem cells obtained from the adipose tissue to a patient. The methods may be practiced in a closed system so that the stem cells are not exposed to an external environment prior to being administered to a patient. Accordingly, in a preferred method, cells present in adipose tissue are placed directly into a recipient along with such additives necessary to promote, engender or support a therapeutic benefit.
L'invention concerne des cellules présentes dans un tissu adipeux, utilisées pour traiter des patients, notamment des patients présentant une maladie vasculaire périphérique (PVD) et d'autres maladies ou troubles associés. L'invention concerne des méthodes permettant de traiter des patients. Ces méthodes consistent à traiter un tissu adipeux, pour administrer une quantité concentrée de cellules souches obtenues à partir du tissu adipeux, à un patient. Ces méthodes peuvent être pratiquées dans un système fermé, de sorte que les cellules souches ne sont pas exposées à un environnement extérieur, avant d'être administrées à un patient. Selon l'invention, dans une méthode préférée, des cellules présentes dans le tissu adipeux sont directement placées dans un récipient, avec des additifs nécessaires pour favoriser ou créer un effet curatif.
