Methods and systems for estimating fetal weight at birth and risk of macrosomia are disclosed. Information regarding maternal characteristics (ST1) and ultrasound measurements (ST2) are obtained for the fetus. A computer program selects the most accurate equation from a hierarchy of birth weight/risk of macrosomia estimation equations (ST3) based on the available information. Program outputs (ST4) include estimated birth weight, risk of macrosomia, and confidence intervals.

L'invention concerne des procédés et des systèmes permettant d'estimer le poids d'un foetus à la naissance et le risque de macrosomie. On obtient des informations concernant les caractéristiques maternelles et des mesures ultrasonores relatives au foetus. Un programme informatique choisit l'équation la plus exacte à partir de la hiérarchie des équations d'estimation poids/risque de macrosomie à la naissance sur la base des informations à disposition. Les sorties du programme comportent le poids à la naissance, le risque de macrosomie et les intervalles de confiance estimés.
