The invention describes methods & systems for embedding Islamic applications ( "Pray Reminder , Qiblah Finder , Hijri Calendar" ) in the mobile handset (110) with the aid of new services offered by the mobile network operator (115) . In order to implement these applications , modifications shall be done by mobile handset venders to the firmware and hardware of the mobile handset and a new Location-Based Islamic Services shall be offered by the Mobile Network Operators (115). Two different methods are proposed by this invention to automatically update the local Islamic data when the mobile handset roams from one area (114) or city to another where each city has its own Local Islamic Data , the first method is to push the local Islamic data by using Cell Broadcast Message (112a) with a predefined format , the second method comprises of a new mobile positioning techniques to determine the mobile location and then acquire the Local Islamic Data using Internet service through WAP (113,117,116,119 ), where the local Islamic Data are provided by Islamic Content Provider (120).
