Methods are provided for using methotrexate (MTX) active agents in which reduced host toxicity is observed. Aspects of the methods in-clude administering to a subject an ef-fective amount of an MTX active agent in conjunction with a MTX toxicity-re-ducing adjuvant, such as a 2,2'-anhy-dropyrimidine, a derivative thereof or a uridine phosphorylase inhibitor. Also provided are compositions and kits that find use in practicing embodiments of the invention. The methods and compo-sitions find use in a variety of applica-tions, including the treatment of a vari-ety of different disease conditions.
La présente invention concerne des procédés pour utiliser des agents actifs de méthotrexate (MTX), dans lesquels on observe une réduction de la toxicité de l'hôte. Des aspects de ces procédés comprennent ladministration à un sujet d'une quantité effective d'un agent actif de MTX conjointement à un adjuvant pour réduire la toxicité du MTX comme, par exemple, du 2,2'-anhydropyrimidine, un dérivé de celui-ci ou bien un inhibiteur duridine phosphorylase.
