ABSTRACT This invention concerns 5(or 7)-methyl-7(or 5)- (4-methylphenyl) tetrazolo (1,5-a) pyrimidine. The compound is prepared by dehydration of methyl-(4-methylphenyl)-4,5- -digydrotrazolo(1,5-a)pyrimidin-6-ol obtained by reacting sodium 1-(4-methylphenyl)-1,3-butanedione with 5-amino- tetrazole monohydrate. The compound is useful for systemically protecting plants from soil-borbe diseases.
