Methyl isothiocyanate (MITC) is a known wood preserving agent which until now was filled into ampoules which were then introduced into the wood to be preserved. The MITC-based disclosed composition, which is characterised by a content of an aprotic dipolar solvent of up to 5 % by weight, with respect to the composition, can be directly applied. For that purpose, the content of packages filled with the composition is expressed by means of an expressing tool and introduced into the wood.
