A process is described for treating heavy hydrocarbon oil which comprises forming a mixed feedstock comprising heavy hydrocarbon oil and a light oil which is a non-hydrogen donor under reaction conditions, reacting the mixed feedstock with a gas containing methane under methylcracking conditions and separating the resultant liquid hydrocarbons.

Procédé pour traiter l'huile hydrocarbonée lourde qui consiste à former une charge d'alimentation mélangée comprenant l'huile hydrocarbonée lourde et une huile légère qui n'est pas un donneur d'hydrogène dans les conditions réactionnelles, à faire réagir la charge d'alimentation mélangée avec un gaz contenant du méthane dans des conditions de méthylcraquage et à séparer les hydrocarbures liquides ainsi obtenus.
