A mica tape comprising mica foil (12), glass cloth (14) and inorganic filler (16) disposed on the glass cloth, the mica tape wound in multiple layers round a circumference of conductor portion of rotary electric coil to thereby form insulating layers, wherein as the inorganic filler (16), use is made of an inorganic filler whose Mohs hardness is in the range of 1 to 7 and whose thermal conductivity is superior to those of mica foil (12) and glass cloth (14). By virtue of the addition and use of inorganic filler with excellent thermal conductance and with Mohs hardness equivalent to or lower than that of the glass cloth of mica tape employed, even when the tape is wound round a conductor portion under application of given tension, the inorganic filler would not injure the glass fiber as a base material of mica tape. Accordingly, there can be formed insulating layers free from any breakage of mica tape and capable of maximum exertion of high thermal conductance possessed by the inorganic filler.

A l~aide d~un ruban de mica comprenant un film de mica (12), d~une toile de verre (14) et d~une matière de remplissage inorganique (16) disposée sur la toile de verre, le ruban de mica étant enroulé en de multiples couches autour de la circonférence de la portion conductrice d~une bobine électrique rotative, on peut constituer des couches isolantes, la matière de remplissage inorganique (16) étant une matière de remplissage inorganique dont la dureté Mohs entre dans la fourchette de 1 à 7 et dont la conductivité thermique est supérieure à celle du film de mica (12) et de la toile de verre (14). Avec l'addition et l'utilisation d'une matière de remplissage inorganique d~une excellente conductance thermique et d~une dureté Mohs équivalente ou inférieure à celle de la toile de verre du ruban de mica employé, même si le ruban est enroulé autour d~une portion conductrice lors de l~application d~une tension donnée, la matière de remplissage inorganique ne va pas endommager la fibre de verre comme matériau de base de ruban de mica. En conséquence, on peut constituer des couches isolantes exemptes de toute fracture de ruban de mica et capables d~employer au maximum la conductance thermique élevée possédée par la matière de remplissage inorganique.
