ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE Microbicidal agents which are used for protecting industrial materials and contain 4-nitroso-pyrazoles of the formula Image wherein R1 represents cyanoalkyl with up to 6 carbon atoms, C3 to C8-cycloalkyl which is optionally interrupted by -S-, -SO- or SO2-, phenyl which is substituted by nitro, C1 to C4-alkoxy and/or phenylsulphonyl, benzyl which is optionally substituted by halogen, nitro, C1 to C4- alkyl and/or C1 to C4-alkoxy, or a 5-membered or 6-membered heterocyclic ring which contains 1 or 2 nitrogen atoms and optionally contains a sulphur atom and which is optionally benzofused.
