079206-Y MICROCOMPUTER BASED FAULT DETECTION AND INDICATOR CONTROL SYSTEM Abstract A fault detection and indicator control system for use in a refrigeration apparatus includes a micro- processor (38,46) responsive to various sensing means (61-75) for controlling the operation of a display device (50-60) to indicate specifically the various types of faults. A communication network (49) is operatively connected to the microprocessor (38,46) for automatically dialing up a service man in the event of certain malfunctions. The microprocessor (38, 46) can also transmit the particular fault code represen- tative of the specific failure so as to facilitate repair of the apparatus by the service man.
