-28- MICROPOUROUS POLYMER STRUCTURES Abstract of the Disclosure Microporous polymer structures are disclosed which contain a plurality of elongated micropores aligned in a generally parallel orientation within the polymer structure. The microporous polymer structures are generally non-cellular and isotropic. In addition, the microporous polymer structures can provide high liquid absorption rates and sufficient physical integrity to avoid losses due to attrition during routine handling operations. The microporous polymer structures are useful, for example, for delivering liquids in solid systems. Also disclosed are processes for preparing the microporous polymer structures.
