A polarity protection circuit (16) for a battery booster device is provided. According to an exemplary embodiment, the polarity protection circuit (16) is comprised of solid-state devices (12a, 12b, 12c, 12d). Preferably no mechanical or electro-mechanical devices, such as solenoids are included in the polarity protection circuit (16). The polarity protection circuit (16) is electrically connected to the battery (11) to be charged and to the boosting battery (2). The polarity protection circuit (16) prevents current flow between the batteries unless proper polarity is achieved.
L'invention concerne un circuit de protection de polarité destiné à un survolteur de batterie. Selon un mode de réalisation cité en exemple, le circuit de protection de polarité comprend des dispositifs à semi-conducteurs. De préférence, le circuit de protection de polarité ne contient pas de dispositifs mécaniques ou électromécaniques, tels que les solénoïdes. Par ailleurs, le circuit de protection de polarité est connecté électriquement à la batterie à recharger ainsi qu'à la batterie de survoltage. Le circuit de protection de polarité empêche en outre l'écoulement du courant entre les batteries tant que la polarité appropriée n'est pas atteinte.
