ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE Compensation for thermal phase variations in the transfer function of a microwave delay line is obtained by placing it in series with a two-port distributed parameter circuit whose transfer function has thermal phase vari- ation of the same magnitude and opposite sign. Preferably the circuit is a transmission line. Microstrip techniques may be used, selecting the substrate materials of the delay line and the compensating circuit to provide the desired compensation.
