A microwave antenna (150) for mounting in a vehicle where the antenna includes a dielectric substrate (90), a conductive resonant patch (92) mounted on one side of the dielectric substrate for receiving signals from a satellite, and a conductive ground plane (194) mounted to an opposite side of the dielectric substrate. The ground plane has an area sufficiently large to shield the resonant patch from any satellite signals that are reflected from a conductive component of the vehicle. The resonant component need not be a patch antenna, but may have another structure such as a helical antenna. The antenna is preferably mounted in a rearview mirror assembly (10), and the ground plane is configured to shield the resonant component from satellite signals reflected from the mirror (40).

L'invention concerne une antenne hyperfréquence (150) à monter dans un véhicule. L'antenne comporte un substrat diélectrique (90), une plaque résonnante conductrice, (92) montée sur un côté du substrat diélectrique, destinée à recevoir des signaux en provenant d'un satellite, et un plan de sol conducteur (194) solidaire d'un côté opposé du substrat diélectrique. Le plan de sol présente une zone suffisamment grande pour protéger la plaque résonnante contre des signaux satellites réfléchis par un élément conducteur du véhicule. Il n'est pas nécessaire que l'élément résonnant soit une antenne à plaque, mais il peut avoir une autre structure, par exemple celle d'une antenne hélicoïdale.
