ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE In a mixer using a planar circuit such as a strip line or a microstrip line etc., as a method for short-circuiting a mount point of a mixer diode at the frequency of the IF signal, this invention utilizes a line length of the main line connecting the mixer diode to the RF signal input terminal thereby to short- circuit the mount point of the diode by a high frequency short-circuiting technique where an open-ended quarter- wavelength transmission line or a short-circuited half- wavelength transmission line is used. According to this invention, under the condition that the frequency of the IF signal is in the GHz range or as high as 1 GHz, a highly efficient and low price microwave integrated circuit mixer capable of obtaining low noise performance over a wide frequency band is obtained.
