MICROWAVE OVEN Abstract of the Disclosure The present invention relates to a microwave oven equipped with a rotary table or turntable which includes a heating chamber whose rear wall is formed into a concave shape of semi-circular cross section approximately concentric with a rotational center of the rotary table. This configuration eliminates any wasted space at corner portions in the heating chamber for providing an economical microwave of compact size. This configuration prevents the rotary table from becoming jammed by a large object to be heated which may be caught by the corner portions during rotation. Damages to an observation window due to spark discharge arising from a metallic material included in the object are eliminated in the oven according to the present invention. The configuration of oven according to the present invention improves uniform heating within the chamber.
