ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE The invention discloses a device capable of measuring the position of the level surface of a molten metal bath by exploiting a microwave signal emerging from a waveguide, and which impinges perpendicularly onto the metal, so as to generate a standing wave, the position of which is determined by the position of the level surface. The invention also discloses the means for detecting the parameters of said stationary wave so as to obtain an indication as to the level.
