Apparatus and a method for scanning personnel for the purpose of detecting and identifying certain categories of materials/objects. The invention utilizes stacked-circuit-board tiled assemblies (35), including one circuit board (35a, 35b, 35c) which carries an array of transmission/reception scanning microwave elements, which elements, during a scanning operation are shifted toward and away successively from a person being scanned. This motion is carried out in a manner enabling detection of peak valley (high and low) values of standing wave reflections, if any, which exist between one of these elements and a region of a person being scanned by the invention. These peak and valley can be employed, with respect to the magnitude difference between them, to enable "found material/objects" identification.
Dispositif et procédé pour l'exploration sur des personnes permettant de déceler et d'identifier certaines catégories de matériaux/d'objets. On utilise des ensembles en pavés de cartes imprimées empilées, avec une carte imprimée qui comporte un réseau d'éléments d'exploration en transmission/réception hyperfréquences, lesquels, durant une opération d'exploration, sont déplacés successivement vers et depuis la personne à explorer. Ce mouvement est exécuté de façon à permettre la détection de valeurs de crête/creux (hautes et basses) de réflexion en ondes stationnaires, le cas échéant, entre un des éléments et une zone de la personne soumise à l'exploration. On peut utiliser ces valeurs, par les écarts mutuels qui les caractérisent, pour permettre l'identification <=matériaux/objets détectés>=.
