A milling tool of good precision having a large number of teeth, includes insert seats (5) whose seating surface (17) is formed on a wedge plate (16). The wedge plate (16) is adjustable within the insert seat (5) with respect to the tool body (3) and the cutting insert (2). A securing screw (14) passes through the cutting insert (2) and the wedge plate (16) and clamps them both against the tool body (3). A setscrew (29) serves for a specified adjustment of the wedge plate (16) and thus for a height adjustment of the cutting insert (2) and its cutting edge (12).
