ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A mine roof plate capable of supporting a load of not less than 23,000 pounds (10,432.8 kg.) with a load-deflection resistance conforming with ANSI/ASTM Specification F432-77. The mine roof plate comprises a rigid plate having a thickness dimension of not more than 4.2164 mm. The plate has a substantially-central portion thereof raised from, or in relief relative to, a flat, peripheral portion thereof. The central portion comprises a base, about which the peripheral portion subsists, and a dome, elevated from the base. The uppermost portion of the dome is of circular configuration. An aperture is formed in the dome substantially centrally thereof. The base is of square configuration and the central portion further has sides, joining the base and the uppermost portion of the dome, and each of which sides fairs from a linearity thereof, defined by the square configuration, to a concavity thereof, defined by the circular configura- tion. The dome further has a flat, terminal land surface, circumscribing the aperture, having a width dimension of not more than approximately ninety percent of the thick- ness dimension of the plate.
