The present invention is a truss system for mine roof bolts generally including a pair of mine roof bolts, a pair of truss brackets, a pair of U-shaped bolts, a pair of holders, a steel cable, and barrel and wedge assemblies. The truss brackets are anchored to a mine roof by the mine roof bolts, the U-shaped bolts connect to the trusses, the holders connect to the U-shaped bolts, and the cable extends between the holders. The cable is tensioned by moving the barrel and wedge assemblies along the length of the cable.
