A mineral-insulated (MI) cable termination assembly and method of manufacturing same is disclosed. The cable termination assembly includes an MI cable having a MI cable conductor, a mineral insulating layer surrounding the MI cable conductor, and an outer metal sheath surrounding the mineral insulating layer. The cable termination assembly also includes an electrical cable having an electrical cable conductor. A connector is provided for electrically connecting the MI cable conductor to the electrical cable conductor. A molded joint surrounds an exposed distal portion of the MI cable conductor and an exposed distal portion of the electrical cable conductor. The molded joint is composed of a polymeric material adhered to the exposed distal portion of the MI cable conductor and the exposed distal portion of the electrical cable conductor.
L'invention concerne un ensemble de borne de câble électrique à isolation minérale (MI) et son procédé de fabrication. L'ensemble de borne de câble comprend un câble MI ayant un conducteur de câble MI, une couche isolante minérale entourant le conducteur de câble MI et une gaine métallique extérieure entourant la couche isolante minérale. L'ensemble de borne de câble comprend également un câble électrique ayant un conducteur de câble électrique. Il est prévu un connecteur destiné à connecter électriquement le conducteur de câble MI avec le conducteur de câble électrique. Un joint moulé entoure une portion distale exposée du câble de conducteur MI, et une portion distale exposée du câble de conducteur électrique. Le joint moulé est composé d'un matériau polymère adhérant à la portion distale exposée du conducteur de câble MI, et à la portion distale exposée du conducteur de câble électrique.
